Joining AOK is one good move! Become Part of an Exclusive Network Please read before proceeding to join AOK. You have already made the most important decision -- to join AOK! Now you need to know a little more about the structure of AOK and how we work in order to make several decisions on the application form. AOK is the premier association for individuals engaged in knowledge enterprise throughout the world. Membership is individual, not corporate; therefore your membership is transportable wherever you go. Please read the following descriptions before deciding to join. The AOK web site is open and membership is not required to access all areas of the site. But membership is required to take part in the active interdisciplinary AOK Knowledge Community (K-Net). This community is composed of knowledge work learners, professionals and thought leaders from many countries around the world. The major deliverables of AOK are: Online: The AOK web site. Through an online collaborative network, our members are interactively connected with the world's leading thinkers and practitioners in both corporate and personal knowledge management. These services are provided through a collaborative workspace and Ning social network. You may choose to subscribe to any topics that interest you, using either email alerts or RSS feeds. Join any special Interest Group of your choice, subscribe to the main forum or add RSS feeds from the events calendar to your RSS reader. The choice is yours.
As a member, you have access to the AOK Knowledge Network which includes on-going discussions between AOK members, round table and online meetings, occasional newsletters and notices. You can also take part in AOK workgroups and future center activities. Regardless of your email choice, you can read and respond online at the AOK Knowledge Network. However, we recommend you also elect email options to keep you abreast of Knowledge Network activity using email notifications. By emailing your information, you agree to abide by the Terms of Membership as stipulated by the Association of Knowledgework. All information given to AOK is kept strictly confidential. We will not provide or sell this information to any other party and you will always control how your information is or is not used.
We encourage you to create your personal profile, set email subscriptions and join SIGs because the discussion group and members' blogs are the most important interactive deliverables. However, we respect the limits of your time. If you choose to receive this service via e-mail, you can opt out later if you must. And, once you have registered at Ning.com, you can reset your preferences on your account at any time. You can also download and install the AOK browser toolbar. The toolbar provides you with direct buttons to the AOK Knowledge Network and to member profile pages, as well as integrated Google search, many links to knowledge, collaboration and social web resources, direct RSS feeds, private multi-account email notifier, pop-up blocker, and a personalized Internet radio tuner.
